Frank Enstein
Best. Day. EVER!
Frank's starter was 2 bolts and no shims and it was little! They are only bad in comparison to an old type Ford starter.
3 bolts no shims and much lighter.
And no solenoid on the starter.

Yep, a 2' extension helped tremendouslyI would have killed for a ratcheting wrench for that bolt.
That reminds me of when we had an Olds in the shop with the "Rocket (I think) Ultra High Compression" aluminum heads. We were setting timing on it when a spark plug shot out of the head and hit the wall in the next bay. Had to use a similar Heli-coil kit. But that was pretty common on those heads. If you're really fouked:

Damn laying on the burn for autolite today!sometimes the box of plugs gets dropped or they're just not quite right.
We sold AC, Champion, Autolite, and Motorcraft, had customers at the parts store that liked the different brands. I remember having plugs from all of them that occasionally came in damaged, had some with no threads on them. Parts warehouse people were notorious for dropping stuff too.Damn laying on the burn for autolite today!
