For the basics:
Basic tune up
Less restrictive exhaust (can retain the converter still)
Highway tires
No hard acceleration or braking - drive like there’s an egg under the gas pedal

What do you get for mileage now? My ‘92 C1500 with a 5.7, NV3500, and 3.08 gearing gets 18.32mpg average. The last fill up was bad. Did a lot of driving on some real windy days here in Illinois

Keep your foot off the fun pedal a much as possible.

Pure gas is only worth a 10% premium over ethanol gas.

Keep your tires aired up and your engine tuned up.

4 New Acdelco oxygen sensors. My 96 K1500 5.7 went from 14 to 17mpg highway.
