Belltech 2-3" springs/spacer

So what's the deal with the Belltech 2-3" spring? Putting parts together, I have a BT flip kit, BT notch and a DJM spindle. Looking at springs now and the BT has a spacer if you want a 2" spring, not sure if I like this idea. Is there a better option for a firm spring or should I just cut my stock spring?
