98 will not move

Hello all. I have a 98 Cheyenne 4.3/4l60 that will not go into any gear. I’ve replaced the ignition switch thinking it was an power issue to the solenoids. The tach was giving me fits as well but as of now it’s working and the truck still will not shift. Fluid levels are fine. Any thoughts? I think I read possibly the lock up converter switch? Idk

Won't go into gear how, exactly? Shifter won't move? Gear is selected but truck doesn't move? Tries to move but is stuck?
2wd? 4wd?

2wd, the shifter will move to any position, but no forward or reverse movement

Is there resistance in the shifter?

See if the shift lever (on the side of the transmission) moves as the gearshift is shifted.

Could be a busted shift cable.

No detents? It just moves freely?
If so, busted shift cable 100%
