2 more coats of filler, and some high build primer, and it's looking good.

I probably should have built it up a bit more (welds are showing) but it looks good enough for me.

Man, I'm not a good painter, but it doesn't look too bad.

I tried my absolute best to stop it from running, but the clear coat I used was just piss thin.

What kind of adhesive did you use to reattach your body trim?

I looked at the truck this morning in the light, and it still looks like shit, so I'm going to DA it at work and just leave it in primer. I have a DA, but my air compressor is underrated, so all I've been using as or recent is an orbital sander.

So this is where I'm leaving it.

The parts store ran out of 9792, so I went and got some sorta similar rustoleum.

At least my co workers won't make fun of me for the runs and sags from my last attempt (that's all I really care about.

Yup 3M is good professional grade stuff, but they are proud of it. Insurance companies aren't always paying for the job LOL.

In certain lights you can barely see the difference, but in others, it is so god damn obvious.

So I went to Lowes on my lunch hour and found the Krylon Gloss Navy Blue, and it's pretty damn close, just not metallic. 20210422_122722.jpg

So tonight I'm going to do this one more time, and this time I'm going to paint up to the pinstripe.
