My plan to convert my two best friends from fords to chevys might end up being a success.

I’m with you there. I got a reg cab long bed and I don’t think I could go back to anything else lol. Sucks about your buddies’ ranger, glad he’s alright though.
Yea, the tow truck driver said that the brush gaurd probably saved his life

Also we just started looking at it and taking it apart, and he's sorta considering getting a new front clip for it and putting it back on the road despite the frame.

I just waxed the Burb, and I I made my decision, I'm keeping it blue.

That original paint came out pretty good, but it needs to be touched up in a few areas (These are the areas I want to paint)

(The nose of the hood/bumper filler)

(The bottom 8 inches of the drivers side after I install new rockers).

(The bottom of the left rear door)

(The whole quarter and back door from the body line down, as well as the bottom of the front door).
This WA9792 Metallic Indego Blue seems to be somewhat forgiving when it comes to color match, so I think I should be able to get away without any real blends (except the hood).

When I do paint it, I might 2 tone it, so what color should the 2 tone be (Or should I leave it be)

My buddy is considering buying this truck to replace his ranger.

It's a '96 C1500 with a 179k, a 5 speed and a 4.3 v6.

It's at a local car lot for $400 since it needs a clutch.

It would really clean up, but if he doesn't buy it, I might just to flip it
(I am more of a regular cab long bed sort of guy).

If I saw that for that price while driving I'd turn around, buy it, and be back with a tow dolly an hour later lol

I wish I could buy it right now, but it was hard enough convincing my parents to let me park 3 POS's on their property, they probably won't let me have a 4th even if I'm flipping it.

I went to the junkyard today and got a new gauge cluster from a 99 suburban k1500, so I was hopeing that the speedometer would read accurate, but still no. I did get a bit of an unintentional bonus out of this with the gas gauge actually working now (I thought the sender was bad, but I guess it was the cluster).

(I still have to roll the odometer forwards to what I now determined is around 296,000 miles).
I also got some door sil plates from a gmt800 truck and cut them down to fit, since the screws on every single gmt400 one I tried to remove stripped out.

I also did some slight duplicolor touchups on the doorjambs.
