Ended up pulling the differential. It's getting all new parts. Trutrac and Richmond 4.10 gears. Yay!

This is a thread I like to see...
Will be subscribing to this. Good find on teh 14 bolt, and it looks like you've been doing some great work.

quoted from Hog on Pacificp in another thread, "I am looking in Dad's 2006 Mitchell Collision estimating guide and a new 2wd 14 bolt axle housing costs $1928 while the 4wd axle housing costs $2448

15522068 2wd 9.5"axles are 31-9/16" in length (this lists as a 6 lug pattern, 5 lug 454SS isnt listed)
15521928 4wd 9.5" axles are 33-1/8" in length
both have 33 splines and both cost $792"

http://www.uspowertrain.com/axlesGM.htm

notice the 4x4 axles are longer than the 2x4

Nice to see real progress on this, are you keeping the open rear?

Lol! Mine spent a year at the freight place in Canada...and so far..about the same sitting on my bench. Need to get my act together and install it!
Whats the benefit in swapping to the 2500 front brakes?
What's the difference? Is it a simple swap?
