4L60E - B&M truck Megashifter?

Has anyone installed a B&M floor shifter in their truck? I'd love to install one but only if I'm able to keep it in whichever gear of my choosing. Or do you also need a shift kit for that capability?

I had one in a square body. It was OK, better than my column, but you need a shift kit to override the TCM
