454 Harmonic Balancer

Can I use a Gen 6 Harmonic Balancer on a Gen 5 engine? I have a Crankshaft Pulley from a Gen 6 engine that I want to run one my Gen 5. It has a smaller boss fit and I want to replace the Under Drive Pulley the PO installed.

I'd at least check the part numbers for both, see if there's a difference.

Is the BBC like the SBC, where the damper hub is shorter on the Vortec engine due to needing space for the reluctor of the crank position sensor?

The part numbers are different. But as far as I. As far as I can tell the difference is the diameter of the fit for the pulley. But I don’t want to take a chance of breaking the crank if there is a difference in balancing.
