GT8 should be 4.10 gears. Gt4 =3.73 geras

Sorry bout that its the gt4. but looking at the neutral safty on the side of the trans its crooked id say its not adjusted correctly

Not a mystery trans the removable bellhousing in the 98 is the right trans they made that change in 98

Could the shift light indicator in the dash being out and the crooked neutral saftey be related to why i cant shift into 1 or 2. Im not counting out what l31maxexpress said to the added metal on the column but with knowing the latter. How would you adjust it? Or were would you adjust it at

Aftler looking and compairing the 98 does not have the added metal it just wont shift into 1 or 2 i can see nothing is binding in the colem it has all ramge of motion any ideas ?

disconnect the linkage and try rotating the gear selector on the side of the transmission
