We're on the fast train now.. almost done with the tedious clean up, and about to re enter the fun part..
And it's cool that your wife helped out on the engine pull. I had my wife help out on a door bushing replacement. That DID NOT go so well . . . maybe because I had the door balancing on a floor jack and all I needed her to do was hold it and keep it balanced while I replaced the bushings. I looked up and she's on her phone while trying to hold/balance the door too. Prob should have asked a buddy to help out on that job.

Part VIII The wiring continues...

now its time to start repairing the janky stuff I've kept a mental notes of along the way.

if I leaned ANYTHING from this page and the reading and research along the way, CHECK YOUR GROUNDS!!!!

one better I just replaced them all..
the distributor wires were easily spliced together 4 or more times
AC wires were taped and twisted..

Lets uncover everything... just to see what we're working with at this point..

I am extremely lucky, my wife loves to help. She isn't like most that just tolerate the hobby.

Been there done that, not worth the drama. Always ask a mate, if they mess it up you can send them home and not have to hear about it all night. :)

Sometimes you have to go back a ways before you can move forward, but in the end it makes the whole job a lot easier and more reliable.

Wow, you have a lot of work ahead of you to get that all back together especially with the messed up wiring.
Hopefully you’ll be able to find some of the original wiring to put back that has been all chopped up.
And while you’re at it if your 1990 has moon gauges in it, you should look into the 91 dash cluster with the tack and upgrade that while you’re messing with all the wiring.
There is a lot of great info here on the site that will walk you through any of the wiring needed to be moved around in the cluster harness, to upgrade to the 91 cluster with needle gauges and tack.

Advice is always appreciated.

To this point in the story is about a year and a half ago. Stay tuned...
