Yup! The extra wires are power & ground for the heaters. Hook those up to a power source that is ignition switched. That way they turn off with the truck. Inline fuse them. Those heaters are notorious for not only over-heating, but shorting out too if the seats get any moisture (coffee!) soaking right down inside the foam to the heat elements.

awesome thanks, what would be a good amperage fuse to use inline? im trying to make it so if I need to unplug the seat in the future and remove it I don't have to go cutting wires, and what if I splice the heated seat wires into the power and ground for the power seat? or is that too much power for it to handle? thanks! so now my other question is how do I go about wiring up the power seat for the passenger side?
I currently only have electric lumbar...
I understand that the new driver seat has 2 extra wires on it clearly for the heated seat.
but the passenger seat only has 2 wires coming out of the seat.

Power & ground.
In my '98, I have a big stereo system. For that I ran a 4ga. power wire from the battery to under the console, into a distribution block to power the 3 amps. The D-block has 4 outlets. Because I only used 3 for the stereo, the 4th supplies power to the seats.
Since the seats require power only for very short durations, fusing them for this isn't really required. Although the 4ga. Is fused under the hood, typical stereo install style.
The heaters are the part that really should be fused.

so im having some issues putting in this new power passenger seat

the top picture is from the seat that came out of my truck and the bottom picture is the seat im trying to install
as you can see the mounts on the old seat are larger...

how can I swap it or build something so the new seat will match up with the factory holes as I don't want to drill holes in my truck

thanks!

If Im not mistaken, it looks like the mounting bracket holes on the seat are the same. so just swap the mounts.

they mount differently
one is straight over the tracks and one is off-centre, one is riveted/welded on and the other is bolted on...
I figured I would just drill 2 new holes in my truck, I lifted the carpet and found a couple dimples that line up with the driver side, as my driver seat had no problems and was the same, just the passenger one has a different mount to it obviously cause it was manual.

any other ideas? or is drilling two new holes my best bet????

thanks!

Any way to drill out the rivets, maybe make new holes in the seat risers and bolt it back together and use existing holes (with captured nuts) in the floor?

well here it is everyone, the finished product.
I lined up the rear holes and drilled new holes in the front so the weather teach mats will still fit :)
driver seat went in with no modification
looks great!
both seats now have 9-way power and heated seats as well :)
all said and done cost me about 50 bucks for the 2 seats and some grade 8 hardware :D
I wire the heated seats up to my factory fuse panel and used one of the open spots so it looks totally factory :D
let me know what you all think :)

THANKS!

Looks great!
But $50.00? Damn!
I've been looking for a set of power buckets (both) in leather for another member, & the best I've found so far is fabric ones with power lumbar only on the pass. side. Typical wear on the dr. side.
For $300.00!!!

ya scored pretty good here, no wear what so ever :) did however have to replace the broken armrest on the driver seat, just put the leather onto my old one and used that one :)
other then that they are mint,
and everything works great

wow 300 that's ridiculous!
I found it very hard to find powered seats on both sides. first time i've ever seen any leather seats like these at the junkyard!
