Please, please, please, do not do this!!!

Though duct tape can fix a lot of things, auto upholstery is not one of them. But that doesn’t stop people from trying.
Below are 10 photos of DIY duct tape repair disasters. They go beyond the typical torn seat to cracked dashboards, busted steering wheels and even convertible tops. Yeah they’re sad and pathetic, but they’re funny too!

I find it hard to believe that only the window is leaking.

Time for a new backrest? Nope, time for new duct tape!

Because covering the entire seat in duct tape would’ve looked ridiculous.

I know it's probably pretty simple, but how do I take the center dash bezel with the vents off? I bought a couple retainers to hold the vent up. I've never had to mess with it.

'95-'98? Gently work your fingers around the edges pullin it away as you go around. You'll feel the clips let go. Once it's all unclipped, work the bezel towards you from the top. Unclip the wires from the headlight switch. (A PITA!) The bezel will want to hang up on the E-flasher button, & the top of the cluster opening. Gently, but firmly work the top of the bezel out from the dash. If it's an automatic, you'll have to drop the lever into low.

Do you have the EQ or pocket? You have to pull straight out at the bottom, you may have to take a pry tool between the dash and the bezel to release the 2 bottom clips. Once those are released, just pull the bezel down to release the top two clips!

I have an aftermarket stereo. So I pop the bottom up? Just by looking at it, I thought it would be the top I do first!
