Hey there so I've decided give some new life to the interior of my 1990 standard cab. My question is what is the factory color of this carpet? I've done a Ron of research and read countless threads but in still not much closer.

This all started because I had to remove basically remove the entire interior to replace the rear speakers, as when I install the new radio I got a miswiring error due to the rear speakers being blown. Of course just about every panel broke in some kind of way on the way out.

I decided since I was this far I may aswell go ahead and replace the floor and rear cab carpet. It's gray now, but under the jack cover it' looks like a blue color. When I visit oe carpets website it list 2 variants of blue. Which do I have? Then again I was thinking charcoal might be nice. I assumed that some of you folks that are much more experienced with these vehicles may know the color combinations. I'll include the pics below.

Yeah the picture makes it look dark gray but it's actually like a blue color. Maybe I will just go with the charcoal after all.

See that tag on the glove box? If you have the OE service manual it has the colors listed for what options your truck came with.

The “WA” is going to be your paint code with different numbers for lower and upper if you have two-tone. The 82D is the interior color and I think seat type (vinyl or cloth). 82 is gray.

I only have the book that every truck came with from the factory, the little information book. I looked through it to no avail..but it looks like a may just go with charcoal anyways. Idk how I'd feel about the blue carpet and gray everything else anyways haha.

Anyone recommend the mass backing or any of the other things the carpet companies offer? I have my own foil backed dynamat and closed cell foam, would the mass backing be better?
Mass backing is costly but Nice . Helps against keeping fluid spills reach the floor pans / Or water seepage soaking into the carpet
It also helps retain the shape of the stamped shape for a nicer fit . Trimming sucks but it’s just wise to do mass backing imho.
I did it on all my s-10 trucks and a blazer.
Stockinteriors is the (go to ) source for good carpet and nice people too . They take calls and offer advice and fast shipping. Tons of color options on site for any classic
