I love the pale green color of my instrument cluster. It's nostalgic, reminds me my father's multiple C/K trucks he owned, my other old 90s GM vehicles. However, I hate how mismatched all the lights are inside. The cluster is pale green, the headlight switch and power mirrors switch are both a NBS blue color, the HVAC is white but it's not too bright so I tend to give it a pass. Then there's the dash 4WD indicator that looks like someone swapped in some high-powered led headlight bulbs in there before shipping it from the factory.

A phone picture doesn't quite capture the differences, and I think I had the brightness dial all the way up when snapping this picture. Even then, the 4wd indicator looks super bright.

The 'NBS blue' colored switches--ignore the window switch that's nearly completely worn out but I'd like to match its color as well.

I've seen green LEDs but they're a bit too harsh (and too pure green). Is there perhaps a hybrid solution (i.e., LEDs for the smaller micro bulbs paired with some kind of film)?

If you ever take the bulbs out of the smaller switches you'll notice those have little blue filter caps on them. At least they should, kinda looks like your window switches have had a bulb replacement without the filter lol. The only good way to get a color match is going to be LED pretty much, but not I'm not sure if you can get that specific color you're looking for... Maybe some specialist LEDs that custom-tailor LEDs to a desired color? I'll have to look into that myself tbh.

It's true tho, the early GMT400s had a lot better lighting balance compared to the later models.... In the few things that were actually lit in them, lol.

After digging around on the internet yesterday I came across this supply site (milansignsupply.com), which sells little 8"x10" sheets of ORACAL brand vinyl products. For just a little over a buck a piece I ordered several green shades in both transparent and translucent adhesive types. It was only after completing my order that I realized they're based in Bulgaria! US-based sites only sold entire rolls so I guess I'll just be patient for 14-28 days and report back on what I find!

I think a nice possibility is that with the combination of LED bulbs in the small controllers, I can just cut out a tiny square and pop it on top instead of trying to line the entire inside. For things like the HVAC controller that are easy to disassemble, I can selectively put the tint on the stencil so not everything turns a shade of green.
