Originally these trucks called for 18" blades. I use 19". They just reach to the top of the glass without hitting the roofline. No probs on the bottom side. The extra inch (1/2" top & bottom) doesn't seem to cause any shuddering due to the extra drag.

A good clean windshield helps. There was a member who used some kind of cleaner which IIRC was some sort of rust cleaner. I may be wrong on that. I use a carpet cleaner for pet stains called 'SpotShot'. (Yea, really!) Don't know what it will do to paint, so I spray it on a rag, then smear it on the window, then rub it clean with a clean cloth. Completely removes all the bugs & greasy film without leaving any kind of residue. I tried it as an experiment, & was totally amazed! I have a dog that likes to touch the window with his nose. Don't know what's in that 'nose-goo', but that stuff can be tenacious to remove. Still trying to figure out how to get the nose-goo/drool off of the paint! It causes stains.
My windows have never been so squeeky clean since I've started using this carpet cleaner.

danny did the write-up on a rust remover... i need to use SOMETHING... i gotz water spots on my glass (more so on the rear glass.. i had a used solid rear glass installed during the painting process of my truck.. guess the previous owner didn't like soap/water on his truck)

he used Rustoleum Rust Remover, i did the same and it was a night and day difference, after the cleaning with the Rustoleum i did coat with Rain-X and use 18" on Drivers and 19" on Passengers, for some reason the 19" on the Drivers side on mine would hit the windshield molding. I just caution you to not get the Rustoleum on the windshield rubber, it discolored mine a little bit in a couple places

My 1990 wiper arms work pretty good, would I notice a great improvement going to the 95-98 ones? Also how hard is it to replace remove the whole arm, ive never done it.

Flip the wipers up, and slide the little tab over, at the base, while lifting the arm straight up from the post. If they've never been off, they can be a PITA to get off the posts. Due to dissimilar metals, corrosion can build up in there. Sometimes a few good taps with a rubber hammer will break them loose.

Okay cool, I've been wanting to replace my for a long time cus they look like crap but didn't really know how to get them off. I heard once you take them off and put them back on they have to be set just right or they won't work properly? Also should I do the upgrade or just stay with my year?
