I have four distributors, the ebay china, the United Motors, the Jegs, and the stock one. Like Schurkey said all most likely China. I'm leaning towards that DUI unit being built. The MSD dizzy? IDK? heard from more than a few they took it out and put on a shelf? Maybe not matched to motor mods etc? IDK... Best I ever had was in a old 73 Vette, dual point Mallory and Excell.. Just a tiny click of the key, and BAM fired up !!!

Salvage yards here are filled with these Vortec 5.7's.
Some well cared for ,and those beat to death are obvious.
Easy to remove a distributor ,or two. Hell ,grab the whole intake.
I was going to try salvage for ECM on 89 truck, But most likely all newer salvage junk in yards by now? Ohio ElTigre? gotta be a sled guy? :)

I've heard the UMP distributor is good quality (for whatever that means), I have no experience with them personally though.
I have been running them for several years in 4 different trucks with zero problems. They are made in China, I called UMP and asked.

I have a UMP dizzy, anything made in China says it is, but no markings on the UMP. My guess that means made in Taiwan as it is not officially recognized as a country.

I don’t necessarily veiw Taiwan parts as bad. They are not communist, and there’s actually some good stuff coming out from there.

Ya Taiwan stuff is better but I'd still pay more for US made.
Also if you buy the UMP you have to buy the vent cap separately, it comes with a regular cap which I replaced with a USA made SMP one.
