Installed a K&N intake on my k1500 and the breather hose that goes from the intake to the valve cover no longer reaches.

It looks like the original one is broken. Its like 2 inches 2 short.

Anyone know where I can purchase one or maybe a different option

I know this doesn't help with your actual question (sorry), but I would return the K&N if at all possible and get a Volant instead. I ran a K&N intake on my red truck for a couple years and ended up removing it. The open box design of the K&N intake kits draws a lot of hot air from the engine compartment and will raise your intake air temperatures significantly compared to the stock setup. The Volant intakes use a sealed box that draws cool air from the factory fender opening to keep IATs down while still improving on flow.

EDIT - Plus the Volants have an optional dry "PowerCore" filter that doesn't require any oil, and therefore has no chance of fouling MAF sensors like the oiled gauze K&N filters can.

Thanks but I just installed it and everything. Just looked and Volants look nice too.

I scored a used K&N intake tube and fender mount box a few years ago for my Vortec 5.7. Had no problems installing the breather tube. It lined right up.
You can cut it in two pieces and insert a short piece of appropriately sized rubber hose as an extension.

No problem! Hope you get the breather figured out.

As far as I know the Volants are the only aftermarket intakes available for these trucks that are actually an improvement over stock. Unfortunately they don't make them for the V6 trucks, otherwise my red truck would have one. I just went back to stock with the high capacity (K47) paper filter when I removed my K&N.

The preveious owner did his own work... and the more im working on it the things I'm finding ****** up.

Is looks like the original hose was broken where it went into the valve cover

I have a Volant CAI on my 1998 5.7L and upgraded to a marine intake last year. The MI needs a TB spacer which raises the air neck by 1" and had the same problem of the PCV intake hose not quite reaching. Solved by purchasing a Dayco 80412 coolant hose which has the same ID/OD with a 90 degree bend but is much longer than the stock 90 degree rubber elbow. Just trim off the excess rubber for a custom fit. Easy peasy.

Edit: You mention that the previous owner did custom work so it sounds like you may not be starting from original equipment. The pcv intake tube stock is a 3/4" hard plastic tube that inserts into a grommet in the valve cover and has a rubber 90 degree elbow to connect the plastic tube to intake air neck. GM p/n 12553090. If the air neck penetration is higher than stock then you'll need to do what I did. But you may solve your problem just by going back to stock assuming K&N properly engineered their kit.

I would not call it customer work at all. The guy shouldn't be working on cars

That looks like the part I need off Amazon. The one it has now you can tell its broken or cracked at some time in its life and is much shorter

Used the Volant dry on my new GM crate engine!
