We got the car up in the air tonight and confirmed that the bushings are junk. We also found that the brakes are thin, a strut is leaking and the carrier bearing is shot. I hate carrier bearings so it will most likely get a one piece aluminum driveshaft. The battery also tested a bit weak. There was a hint of glitter to the diff oil and a bit of pinion play. Not surprising on the diff, a common issue with these.

All in all not too bad then.

If I overlooked it, my apologies...how many miles on the car? New AC Delco plugs/wires might not hurt if its up there, and it may solve your miss. I have found stock replacement plugs and wires to be awesome on the LS platform, my tuner even recommends them.

PS - I noticed you're in Grants Pass, I lived in Medford for a short time in the early 90s.

This is the list of stuff to be done. It is all easy stuff. I haven't put it up on a lift yet, maybe tomorrow night if the skip shift eliminator shows up. My sweetie thinks that she wants to go back to 18" wheels.

Shifter
Keys
Poly bushings
Tune up
Service all fluids
Check brakes
Adjust parking brake
Skip shift eliminator
Fix a/c
Check power port
Fix trunk latch
Hood and trunk struts
Order touch up paint
Radio interface
Shift boot
Leather conditioner
Rear springs
Tune
Door lock switch
Dim low beams
Wheels
Tires
Exhaust? Borla?
Fix drivers lumbar
I've already called my leather shop and talked to them about redoing the shift boot and doing orange stitching.

I had the Borla catback on my '04, it sounds good, but it is pretty quiet honestly, so maybe that's a good thing since its the wife's car? I will say, unless you're gonna keep it forever (1 million mile warranty) the Borla catback is pretty expensive for what it is (it didn't even come with exhaust gaskets, freakin $900+ and no gaskets!) Also got the exhaust resonator deleted, didn't notice any difference whatsoever, sound or power-wise. The tip does look 100x better than the stock tip though, especially if its all rusty. The most interesting thing about that car? The traction control system, leave t/c on and try to do a burnout and it forces the pedal towards you, or at least locks the pedal in place to keep you from giving it more gas.

PS: I probably have a clip of a cold-start from my '04 5.7 GTO with the Borla system on it, so if you'd like I can find a way to send that to you, although there are also tons of YouTube videos on the same system.

131k on her. I'm a big fan of NGK ignition parts. I've never had a single problem. I actually ordered NGK Ruthenium plugs and wires tonight. Where did you live in Meddy?

I'm usually a fan of Corsa on Vettes so I was disappointed when I heard a YouTube video of Corsa on a GTO. The Borla sounded good though. What I wish to find is actually an "exotic" sound. My wife and I were cruising down a back road last summer with the windows down and a new Camaro came around the corner and the sound made both my wife and I go wow! It wasn't loud, it actually sounded like a pasta rocket.

An expensive day. On Monday we noticed an occasional chirp that sounded like a belt. Today revealed the noise, the throw out bearing is ready to be thrown out! Today I ordered Tick master and speed bleeder, LS7 clutch kit with an aluminum flywheel, voodoochikin poly carrier bearing, ripshifter, shift knob, Dayco complete belt kit, NGK plug wires, NGK ruthenium spark plugs (never tried them), hood and trunk struts, 2 sets of keys and fobs and finally an Interstate battery. I feel like I'm forgetting stuff that I ordered...
