Battery new die hard from advanced. Wouldnt put it pass defect though lol since theres not rep on the quality yet:) been thinking about a maintainer but was nervous on which one to get lol. Any good? I know harbor freight got mixed reviews

One thing an old parts guy told me years ago. If you put a new battery in a big car that will tax its capacity the first thing you do is charge that battery overnight on a trickle charger. Just running with an alternator doesn't build a new battery up enough to really handle the load properly. If you haven't done that I suggest a good charge.

I have had pretty good luck with the HF briefcase style maintainer. Your mileage may vary but mine did the trick. Mine get low because I don't drive the truck very much. I use it for errands and trips to the dump and to the box store for materials etc.

Yes when we had our parts store, we had a big work bench that Dad built to be a battery bench. Had a big charger on it, and bins for tools and stuff. Every battery we sold got charged before it left the building. Even if we'd gotten it in a day or 2 earlier. And we sold you the size and CCA your vehicle required. No cheapies. Too many comebacks in Houston heat and humidity!

Having worked at Autozone in North Texas, it aint just Houston that's hard on batteries. All of Texas seems to be that way. And I totally agree on making sure to sell the proper CCA battery at minimum. Or bigger if you can. Otherwise that's just asking for failure.
