Woah- 6 to 8? What mileage did your half ton get vs. your 3/4?

My half ton gets 14/15 on everyday runs, but toting two barge wagons full of wood I get about 9/10. (3.73 gears and 285/75/16)

3/4 ton gets around 11 loaded and 13 unloaded. Half ton got around 17 loaded and 20 unloaded, actually could push that to around 21 on a strictly highway trip keeping my foot out of it. 350/4L80E/4.10s on 265s vs. 350/4L60E/3.42s on 245s.
The 3/4 ton also has a CAI and a better exhaust, the half ton was completely stock everything, just tuned up with AC Delco parts.

argument over...everyone take a deep breath, count to 10, and go work on your truck...

Agreed, and think responsible when you do haul with your truck. Your not the only one on the road.

Hauled several cars cut up in the bed of my C1500s, my C2500, and my K1500. My poor 80 K2500 knew no limit to it's load capacity. It's a 6700#truck by itself. Hauled in a load of bricks and cinder blocks with it, and the lady at the scale house looked out the window, confused. Wanted to know how I was tipping the scales at 13,200 without a trailer. Stupid truck never once grunted, moaned, or complained.
