This is the last load I hauled with my '01 RCLB "sugarwater" K1500 before I purchased my '99 K2500 CCSB. Looks can be deceiving but that is in the neighborhood of 10k lbs if I had to guess by some other loads I have hauled.

Edited to say I know an '01 isnt a GMT-400 but whats important is I am back in a real truck now.

Just hauled home a pallet of shingles in the bed. 2628lbs. It squatted a couple inches, but the 3/4 ton springs seemed pretty decent with em.

How heavy of axles are on that trailer? Therea no way thats 5 tons

Two 3500lb axles and I guarantee you it was every bit of 9-10k lbs this wood was super saturated from all the rain we have been getting lately.

thats 2 big trees before i got new tires or wheels or anything done to my truck those are 245/65/16 load range e at 60 psi

I've since upgraded from my 1/2ton. I now have a full ton.

With all the toys, people, gear and firewood I was about 15k.

I use to own a 94 travel trailer that was 34' long and we use to load it to the max as well as had the bed full with two dirt bikes and ice chests. I know the trailer dry was 6800lbs and I'm sure after everything loaded I was pushing 9000lbs. I would go up north to the Grand Canyon and never really had any problems doing the speed limit. Down hills sucked tho with the stock brakes thank god for trailer brakes

I've never uploaded a photo on here so hopefully this works. This is a photo of my old 94 1500 Z71 hauling an old gleaner combine to the scrap yard on a flatbed trailer. I believe the scale read just over 24K lbs.
