So, i am wanting to get some Roller Rockers for my 1996, it has the 350 Vortec, looking for a little boost on power!

i am wanting to go with Scorpion Roller Rockers, i have a set of 1.5:1's on my 1994 and have had great luck with them.

my question is, is just a 1.6:1 set a good way to go? or should i got with the 1.5 and 1.63 set? will i need to drill out the pushrod holes with each?

We ran a set of scorpion 1.6's on our old Denali with an LT4 production cam for a total lift of .480 and the pushrod holes had plenty of clearance. The .570 lift on the stroker required opening up the pushrod holes to 1/2".

1.6 would be .442/.456. Stock was .414/.428. It would free up some friction and have more flow but it wouldn't be a major difference.

I was told that the roller rockers could transmit noise that the knock sensors may pick up and pull out timing as a result. I don't know from experience. Just passing along what I was told.

solid lifters and gear-to-gear timing would make alot of noise and cause knock sensor/timing issues, simply changing rocker arms would not.

To OP, I changed my rockers on my 98 to the narrow tipped 1.6:1 Scorpion self aligning roller tip arms with no problems. Its been a year now and a lot of driving and haven't had any issues

I had slightly different figures than you.

Factory cam specs
exhaust 0.287 * 1.5 = 0.4305 with factory rocker arms
0.287 * 1.6 = 0.4592 high ratio

intake 0.278 * 1.5 = 0.417 with factory rocker arms
0.278 * 1.6 = 0.4448 high ratio

o also, when I sat my valve lash I did it on the tight side of things but overall I feel like it was worth doing. As soon as it warms up some more I'm going to get another set for my 99...
