What to do???

I am getting tired of my good ol 305 in my 97 sas 1500. I have a fresh 454 that i coul put a new flexplate and a carb on and put it in?? or I have a 5.3 that needs to be refreshed I could swap? or I am getting a tired 8.1,allison, combo. or just get a stealth ram intake for my 305 and put a turbo on it?? so many choices. what do you guys think would be best for mostly a weekend warrior??

Fresh 454 if it's a weekened warrior, 5.3 for a DD.

you have alot of engines running around. I'd agree with RHamill, and add a souped up 8.1 would also be a fun weekend warrior setup.

what transmission would go behind the 454?

i would throw the 454 in it. i think i understand your gonna put an allison tranny in it i would put that in with the 454 or go find a duramax/ allison combo and throw it in there

Find a TH350 or 700R4 to mate with that 454, build up either of them mildly, should be a good drivetrain.
