Guys, I'm turning our tahoe into a DD for me... Might end up doing an LS swap. Won't be mudding, nothing wrong with current axle, just wondering what drives these swaps? Thanks

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's just for better towing/durability. I would think you would be fine with just a 10-bolt if you're not towing a lot/heavy loads.

10 bolt can't take the shock loads at all. If you plan on stomping it to the floor on any kind of regular basis, do the swap.

Totally unnecessary unless you're wheeling on 35's... 10 bolts get a lot of undeserved hate on here. Why fix something that isn't broke?

Ok, I have time so what/where do it find the correct 14 bolt? I'd have the gears rebuilt since it's out, what/who's to buy? I'm also going to put at least 32" tires on with a 4-6" Rcx lift... Thanks, love the help here. The LS swap would have 400-450hp
