I don't tow. Truck has a roll pan and no hitch plus it's lowered so tong weight has to be minimal or the springs interfere with the bed. I was thinking if I could do a LS swap for about the same money as a SBC rebuild I might go the LS route. Better fuel mileage, more modern electronics etc. at the expense of maybe loosing some of the user serviceability that the TBI has. Now if somebody had a sequential port aftermarket injection setup.....

I will get some part numbers for you Thursday if I remember. ICT Billet makes adapters for the stock SBC mounts for like $50 And maybe !00 for a flexplate and spacer. It is easier if you get a cable drive throttle body. Much cheaper and easier.

Engine Mount Plates; ICB-551-628 $34.99

Flexplate; HAY-10-030 $140.95

Pilot Adapter; SUM-704004 $24.99

Prices as of 5/20/21 @ Summitracing.com

All in stock today 5/20/21!

The mount plates have several positions. One of those put the back of the block exactly where it was with the SBC so the driveshaft can be left alone as well as the transmission mount and linkage.

LS is by far easier to service when it comes to DD normal maintenance.

Only reason my big block powered 'burb will get a 400"+ cubic inch LS when the 454 dies.

I am getting a 5.3L for next to nothing and it runs awesome. so I will swap it in with a new cam, converter and headers and get tuned and run it for a bit, i am just hoping that my 1995 4l60e will be up for the task as it were just rebuilt before I got it
