TH400 4wd to 2wd

Anybody ever tried converting a 4wd unit to a 2wd?
I swapped out some labor for a low mileage (after rebuild) 4wd 400.
Thought it would be easy to sale, but no luck. Got a guy wanting a 400 for his turbo 5.3 mustang. But can't find much information on the swap and what's involved

It's 2020 the heck with a 3spd automatic swap in a 4l80e with overdrive at a minimum.Id just sell the th400 and find a 2wd 4l80e the overdrive will just add even more value and resale to his car if and when he needs or wants to sell it 9 out of 10 car nuts want overdrive now adays. But if he instis I do believe the entire trans needs to be taken apart to convert it.

Depends on the output shaft. I did it both ways, 2wd to 4wd, and vise versa. if the splines are long enough it will work.
