Simple question: What makes the rear window pop open when you hit the dash switch?

Yeah the latch itself usually has enough spring tension to push the window away from it once the solenoid releases the latching mech. If it's not, then that spring probably broke. It's not too uncommon... My 99 Blazer had this problem, the latch wouldn't release unless you were pulling the window at the same time as hitting the button to release it. I ended up replacing the entire latching mechanism on it.

Thanks. I think I'm going in the right direction. It seemed logical that the latch should pop it open, similar to how a hood pops open when you pull the release inside.
The actuator is pretty cheap, so I'm gonna pull it and the latch and see what I can find.
