oh yeah. I am reading people stating (4L60E) mine is just a 4L60. "E" didn't come out until 1993.

Sounds like the front pump is out in the tranny possibly? I haven't heard them whine like that but it's the only thing I can think of.

That's because no one uses the name 4L60. For years it was the 700R4, then GM changed the way they named their transmissions.

my wife came home yesterday and told me her friend son said it is the transmission computer. I told her I believe thats the 4L60E, not the 4L60. Mine is the 4L60. (no computer)

re-fabricated the center section of the dash. Will be installing a Pioneer double DIN head unit soon.
