hola tejanos and gmt400. watching football today. thank you for great information and want to share some info and a few pics i have on hand of this truck.

little bit to say: og owner of this pig. basically driven to hell and back across texas mostly from ntx to lubbock( hs to college), later ok and ark in 90's-2000's. i thought the west texas sandstorms ruined the paint, but turned out to be a gm dip process (indiana build). i had an 84 SB 4x4 in hs and had to go 2wd for the college long hauls. funny, i later bought a 3rd gen 4r because i thought this truck would not make it through kids, but it still lives. it now just sits and makes a beer run now and then to the lake. currently on old man hubcaps, but i sometimes switch out to factory black caps and rings. even sb caps too . still fun to drive. og engine and 2nd trans with approximately 160k with no problems and various stuff replaced.

Wow! I thought I had replaced a lot of parts. You've almost rebuilt your truck a couple times now. That's dedication!!!

example of it's hood patina. i shot it with a spray can for fun and fear of rust. about a few weeks after getting the truck, a large section of paint lifted off the roof. dealer repainted roof. if i only knew what was to follow...

of note, i removed the trim when i first got the truck thinking i was going to modify it with color matched or blacked bumpers, grill, etc. never got around to it. if it ever gets an engine, i'll paint or line it. this is just a project truck.

back window replaced, shot out at ttu - really uneventful. when i lived in sneed dorm at texas tech in lubbock, we would walk over to one guy from italy across the street on university to get calzones and strombolis to watch the football /cowboys games as dining halls closed evening sundays. that particular day, i was out running errands and parked in front of the store to get calzones for my buds and self. came back out and my rear window was shot out with a bb/pellet gun. i still have found glass in truck over the years.

i was also asked about the velocity stack, so i'll post it here. it's inside of 5" tall air cleaner lid from a square body. the base is cut out for the known salad bowl for clearance and height. i got a bunch of parts from our school car projects (mechanical engineering student at the time) notably the gmc 91 3/4 ton cng conversion truck (emission stuff, dual battery trays, etc. i was on ford hybrid electric project and we shared same lab/bays.) anyway, does it do anything? maybe a little. it looks and sounds cool though with a flat air cleaner top on it. velocity stacks do work and being inside the giant filter is a plus. i also removed the venturi in the resonator and the duct in the fender. when i added the injector spacer mod, it seemed to spray a little fuel out of the tbi inlets. the stack seemed to alleviate the problem i created with the spacer. lol :- )...
