I was going to get a WIX for the crew cab, but the parts store was out of them. I got their house brand instead; it's not difficult for me to change it(since it's a 1 ton and up in the air), so if I have to swap it out, no biggie. My personal preference for filters is AC, but they can be hard to locate.

I made a good habit of replacing fuel filters on my first truck. Around 30k. I never really paid attention to the brand though.

I heard and believed that changing fuel filters prolongs your pump life (at least in my case, that did seem to be true.) Is it?

I never realized until now that the fuel filter is AFTER the pump...so it seems the filter is actually there to prevent stuff from entering the engine.

Has anyone ever had an issue with fuel filter clogging? I've wondered what those filters look like on the inside. Even though about opening one up to see what's inside or what it caught.

Still agree to change OP's filter, but don't really know the difference in brands.

Wix was recently bought out; their filters now come from every corner of the globe.
Wix was bought out by Mann, but they still make the filters. I haven't heard that they've been buying other people's filters and slapping their name on them. Do you have a source, or is this just speculation? Asking seriously, because I typically buy Wix.

This is where the injector unit "fits into the plenum.
I could either do some fitting on the new one or swap everything over to the old body.....

Mann also makes a good product. I'd say a great product ...from my experience with them. Used several of their products for years on certain imports. I doubt (hope) they'll cheapen the Wix brand.

When you don't have a smoke machine and your dentist told you your not allowed to suck or blow.........
An air mattress pump with a cigar in the intake and the output connected to your engine air intake. Of coarse the pump will need isolated from the engine. I just used a piece of cardboard.

Some Wix filters I've been buying have been made in Poland. Most recently was a plastic-bodied fuel filter I crammed into the fuel hose of a wood-chipper powered by 8-horse Briggs.

SOMEBODY is "big" in Poland; Standard Motor Products brags up their ignition coils made in a "state of the art" factory there.
