I use a part's store replacement, I just ask for a cap and rotor with brass terminals.
Hmmm...well my local AAP has AC Delco parts in stock, may try that.

Thinking about knocking out the ICM, Pick-Up Coil, Cap, and Rotor all in one fell swoop with one of these:

Thoughts?
If you have the money go with one from DUI.....

I read through this thread a little bit last night but actually fell asleep at the computer so I dont know all the details. Did you confirm that the timing is correct? Like you said, it is a rare possibility that the dizzy was loose and you managed to rotate it a little bit. It doesnt take much to throw the timing off 2-4 degrees. Have you tried running the truck with the brown wire disconnected from behind the glove box?Well instead of dumping $30-$40 in another cap and rotor I went ahead and ordered that distributor assembly. I'm wondering if I damaged the pick-up coil when replacing the rotor maybe? Or perhaps just knocked the timing off a little somehow?

A new dizzy is going to require you to start from scratch setting up the timing. If you have never done one beofre then it can be a little frustrating depending on your mechanical ability.
The problem has to be something that you touched while doing the tune up.
