12v would be my preference but finding the elusive last year model with all the design issues corrected is a long term waiting game. Found one but they'd let it sit out and get rust in the cylinders. So it's currently just getting the 96 6.5td for now until I can get an 07+ 6.5td, since that's the year they finally worked out all the design flaws in the 6.5
