I didn't RTV before and it blew out. Maybe just a bad gasket. It seemed to be leakin around the o-ring, and the gaslet was fried when I took it apart this eve. It was bad enough that I lost 2 qts in about a week.

yeah they can fail, but the stock ones I had lasted from '96 until ~'04ish when I replaced them with some felpros, I had good luck with the felpro replacements before I ditched the cooler/sandwich adapter, I forget the P/N though (and they might be different on my '96 c1500 vs a '92 z71)...

Not fer sure but I think it was felpro that I got. I always go with the better choice. Oh well, maybe just a bad batch. I need a new one anyway. I just got it temped together till I can get to the store tomorrow anyways.
