Hello,

So I should get my truck back from paint this week, the interior and exterior will be done and now it's time to maybe investigate making this truck a little more powerful but definitely more reliable.
I would love to say money is not an object but we always know it is. I have two options I am looking at and just wanted to see if people had cautions or experience I can draw from to make the right engine decision. I do want to keep the engine running on 87 octane so not looking for a hot rod engine.
Option 1:
This is a nice looking engine, ready to drop in. I have started researching the Holly TBI units and reviews are not kind. Additionally looks like this will not control the transmission and my cruise control will probably no longer work. The engine makes good power and still allegedly runs on 87 octane and uses the stock torque converter.
Option 2:
Buy the carb version and get an adopter plate for my TBI, of course I will need to mod my TBI to support this kind of air/fuel flow needed. The positives here are Stock TBI is very reliable, controls the transmission, and should be able to get the cruise control working.
Option 3:
Something like this, it's made for my manifold and TBI to bolt right one. 260hp is a nice bump but not as nice as the 341 from the other 2 options. Positives are stock TBI, transmission, cruise control.

I am brand agnostic I only chose the blueprint as they have the full range of blocks/engines. They are expensive but appear to be fresh cast blocks and high quality.

First Option: If the Holley Sniper won't control your transmission, I'd pass. Ignition timing is not controlled by the computer; I suspect there's no knock-sensor. No EGR. Not emissions-legal. I'd think the cruise control would still work unless you disable the DRAC.

Second Option: Why buy a carb and distributor you don't need? At best, you could recover some cash by selling them. No EGR, so you'll be tuning the computer, and it won't be emissions-legal.

Third Option: The easiest-to-deal-with of the bunch. Not emissions-legal if that's a concern.

The Blueprint blocks have no cooling system bypass, they'd be a poor choice on any vehicle that has a heater valve that blocks flow under some conditions. I'm not enthused about drilling the thermostat.

Or, the GMPP intake here which appears to have provisions for EGR too. Just order it, don't look at the price

Disclaimer: I've never used this, YMMV. I don't understand why they say "Single Plane" either.
