The p.o said he changed the box to step side cause he liked it better...
I thought I had something someone threw together...thanx for ur help

Are these trucks rare??..or pretty common

A few years later (1999), when I was looking for a 3/4 ton, all I could find were extended cab short boxes (ECSB), when I wanted a regular cab long box. I ended up with a RCLB 1-ton.

1 = U.S. built

GT = GMC division

F = 7,001-8,000 lb gvwr, your truck is a 7,200 gvwr 3/4 ton, sometimes referred to (by us, not GM) as a 2500LD or light duty. (The 8 lug 3/4 has 8,600 lb gvwr and GM calls it heavy duty on the window sticker.)

K = 4WD

2 = 3/4 ton classification

9 = ext cab

H = 5.0 TBI

X = check digit (doesn't mean anything to us)

R = 1994

E = built at Pontiac Michigan plant

Yep. It's a 2500 in name but essentially it's a 1500 with a better rear axle and some stiffer springs. Yours would be 6 lug automatically because it's a 4WD, but even the 2WD versions are 6 lug instead of 5. I've owned a few of them.

Those rear axles are nice to have for solid axle swaps
I put one in my D44 truck
It was factory 3.73 with the gov lock
The govs are better on these than their 10 bolt counterpart
