Im wondering if it is necessary or just recommended to re-align after cranking or decranking the torsion bars. The way mine are now has the bolt almost all of the way in and the A arms sitting on the droop stops. I want to decrank so it is level at stock height. So is it needed to re-align or can I save myself some money and just decrank it myself?

I think it's necessary. Just like installing lift coils on my truck.

I would double check the ball joints and other steering goodies while you are tinkering as they all play in the alignment process and some shops charge you for a partial alignment even if they dont do it due to damaged parts. This is usually waived if you allow them to replace the parts but you and I both know who wins there. If you have the skills to fix it then why pay the man to do it for you?
