Nice truck. So in 1999 the GMT-800 1500 and 2500 (Non-HD) "New Body Style" was introduced. In 1999 they still made C/K 1500 in the GMT-400 body and were called "Classic."

The GMT-400 C/K2500 and 3500 were made until 2000, which coincided with the new "2500HD" and 3500 Silverado being introduced in 2001. The GMT-400 GVWR 15,000# 3500HD were made until 2002.

I've got a GMT800 1999 ECSB 1500 Silverado that I've had for a while. I've kept it in pretty decent shape. Not that long ago I bought a 2000 GMT-400 K3500 CCLB SRW that was formally a ranch truck as kind of a heavier duty truck for hauling heavier stuff for house projects. She's in a bit rougher shape, as one can imagine, but not too bad. My son still can't understand why the rougher 3500 "older" truck is "newer" than the nicer 1500, LOL.

Edit: Now that I think about it, my K3500 just says "LS" on the pillar, but I'm pretty sure the older versions say "Silverado." Probably done to avoid confusion, LOL. Transitions years are kinda of confusing, GM-style.

Nice truck what are your plans for it?
Just to keep her running well and looking clean. I don’t want to mod it too much because I want to be able to put 2 tons of gravel in it and not feel bad.

Maybe when I’m an old man, I’ll be able to take it to car shows as a “survivor.” LOL

Nice truck. So in 1999 the GMT-900 1500 and 2500 (Non-HD) "New Body Style" was introduced. In 1999 they still made C/K 1500 in the GMT-400 body and were called "Classic."

Yeah, thanks for this history. The transition years are kind of confusing. When I’m searching for parts, sometimes I have to get creative to ensure I get the part I need.

That's why I mentioned about using the VIN number at the parts store. For stuff that is engine related, just being a 5.7 or 7.4 vortec should get you the correct parts, since the GMT800 next generation truck would have a 4.8, 5.3 or 6.0(all LS series engines).

Yes, the Silverado trim level became the LS trim level on the post 98 GMT-400s.

That is a clean truck, especially for Ohio. Plugs, wires, fuel filter and cap and rotor will definitely help performance.
Welcome to the forum!
Some series of 400s were built into 99 and 2000, using up remaining parts inventory before all the new design trucks were available. Plus there was a strike during the retooling period, so the new 99 trucks debuted later than they were supposed to. I can attest that having the VIN number will be helpful buying parts; I've had experience with 2 99 Suburbans and a 1990 square body Burb on this, where the parts store tried to give me newer model parts.
Same here with my '00 Yukon Denali. A lot of times I find it easier to order parts for a '97 or '98 Yukon so theres no confusion.

Exactly right. My '89 is actually a Scottsdale. Had to correct quite a few uninformed lookey-loos at car shows, that GM trucks weren't named Silverado till NBS '99's
Imagine if someone ever saw a Cheyenne...
Or a square body Custom Deluxe!

I don't usually have an issue with getting the right parts for my 99, looking it up as a 99, if I'm looking for OEM type replacement parts. Where I've noticed problems is if I'm looking at high performance, or accessory type parts.... those manufactures/sellers don't always know what to do with our late 400s. They tend to either list "Silverado" parts, or they list both 400 and 800 stuff together.
