Thank you. I love making stuff that appears factory, or store bought aftermarket. I popped panels today and wired it up. This thing works great. The black wrinkle blends well with the under seat carpet. When the seat gets to a 45° angle when lowering it, the light automatically goes out. That mercury switch is the bomb diggity. I used a straightened coat hanger with a tight hook on the end as a wire snake to pull wires above the headliner, and above the seat bottom carpet. This wire hanger has been in my toolbox for years. I have snaked plenty of wires with it over the years. Another homemade tool lol.
That light is absolutely awesome!

So the shop cleanup ground to a halt once again. About 5 years ago I got this bench grinder at a swap meet. The mounting base was effed up, and after sandblasting it, I repaired the base with JB weld, and painted it. Well I shoved it in the corner with the intent to make a base for it I could plug into my workbench. My workbench has 2&1/2" tube in 3 locations so you can plug in things like a bench vise, or this grinder. I finally made the base for it, and got it off the floor. Now it's something useable.

My one kid is all about dying her hair eggplant purple. Last 3 days she keeps hitting it w the purple dye. I told her, honey it's not gonna get anymore purple than it is.
Yup. The blue dye in my hair looks great for about a day, then it fades to teal. I don't want teal hair, I want royal-fricking-blue! #dd214

Wife shows me a text from Grac or is it Grak. I think I will spell it Grak for the correct pronunciation for now. Anyhoo Grak sends her a message about how it's so hard out there and blah blah blah so wife wants to let her back in the house. I'm still like no. But because I have a small soft spot in my heart even though alarm bells are ringing in my brain, and we let her back. So for 5 nights in a row this kid has wrecked my sleep. Mind you I work on aircraft for a living. Lack of sleep and machines that can f@ck up in a big way is not a good combination.

So I go to work day 5. Cannot focus on my job, I'm also dizzy from a lack of sleep. I data dump on my wife with text messages about it. Then take PDO and come home at 10am. Her "room" is the enclosed sun porch. Theres a door with a window going into the garage. I back my truck into the garage, get out, look into the window, and this kid is sleeping soundly. I am pissed off. I turn my truck around nose it into the garage as close to the door as I can, close the garage door. Turn off the breaker to that room to shut its A/C off, Set the car alarm off and go in the house. I tell my wife if I cant sleep because of her, she doesnt get to sleep either. Then I went into my bedroom locked the door and "played her the song of my people".

After clicking the panic button 3 times she came out of her room and asked why the alarm was going off. My wife calmly told her that since she has wrecked my sleep 5 nights in a row, she wont get sleep either. That's when the kid said my wife was married to a man child. I went out there and let her have it. I told her she has wrecked my sleep 5 nights in a row, and I cant even function at work. Then I told her, you may not give a $hit about your life, but I'm betting each and every passenger and crewmember flying on stuff I fix does. Then I told her how much value do you provide to this household? Waited for an answer and then told her, you provide none!!! All you do is bust up my house, damage my cars, get drunk, do drugs, keep people awake, cause us medical bills for your stupid $hit, all while using my resources, and eating my food. You dont go to school, you say you want a job but are taking water pills so you dont piss hot on a drug test.

Then I said did you like getting your sleep wrecked? Yes or no. She stared at me like a cow looking at a gate. I asked her the question again. Same response. Then i looked at her mother and said shes never going to answer. So this kid looks st me and said she didnt answer because she thought it was a rhetorical question. I told her no it wasnt. You had two choices to answer it. I even waited in silence for an answer. So I'm gonna ask it again. Did you like getting your sleep wrecked? Yes or no. I'm waiting. She says no, but your being childish. Oh am i now? It effing got your ass out of bed didnt it? Regardless, i made a point. It's obvious with you that when told not to do something you continue to do it anyways. Doing this in a BIG WAY is the only way that something like this is going to penetrate that thick skull of yours.

I am the one providing 85% of what has to be payed for in this house, your mothers part time job provides the other 15%. Her sleep is getting wrecked as well. If she gives the wrong drugs to patients because of lack of sleep, and somebody dies, she goes to prison. Same here. Our jobs pay well, but if we make a wrong decision and people die, we go to prison. I'm not about to let that happen.

So heres what's gonna happen. Everytime you wreck my sleep, I will PDO from work, and I will set my car alarm off , I will kill power to your room and will wreck your sleep. This is not a threat, this is a promise.

So she says i dont think I'm talking loud. I tell her Grace you have a shrill voice. You always have. Your room goes out to the patio. Turn on the patio lights, go out there and close the door. Talk to your hearts content. I dont care. But the moment you come in this house after 10 pm, close you door to your room. If you leave your room. Put the phone down, excuse yourself from that conversation and quietly walk through the house. Think!! You can be courteous, you just dont want to. And if it continues, and you come home and find all your $hit thrown on the front lawn, dont knock on the door. Just pick it up and leave. This is your only notice.

Your brother and sister go to school and that's how they provide value for this family. You dont want to go to school? Fine, get dressed and get out of my house to go looking for a job. Plenty of places in walking distance of this house you can get a job at where nobody has to take you there, but if we do, you will fork over gas money along with rent money.

The list of things that are non negotiable we talked about when you came back are still non negotiable. If you dont follow those rules, then expect to find your stuff on the lawn. This is your only warning. Get dressed go look for a job. I'm going back to bed.

Well 2 nights in a row, she was quiet as a church mouse, and got a job at walmart yesterday. The meme below was the B.S. she was trying to do and I wasnt having any of it. Things may get better. If they dont, I toss her crap out on the lawn, and that's that. I told her, this time its permanent. I will not make this mistake again. You are on thin ice sister. You better walk real carefully around here.

Shes still quiet as a church mouse after 10pm. So that's good. Wifey took kids to Oklahoma for a wedding this weekend. Was great being home alone. I got a lot done. With all the rain we have been having I pulled all the weeds in half the front yard, and all of em in the back yard, plus long overdue springtime yardwork clean up. I filled 90% of the dumpster in the alley lol.

But I also did some shop time. Continued w shop cleanup, and modded my shop hose hanger to seperate my spare hoses from my plugged in hose but keeping them on the same rack. I also added welded on nuts to my work bench plug ins to hold the vise and grinder in place. Please dont judge my welds. Working with a bad knee and having to brace myself while daubing on puddles of metal.

I also added a 15A GFI weather resistant outlet to one of the poles on the carport. This lets me use my mini shop vac for vehicle cleanout without needing to open the main garage and plug in, or use an extension cord. Its pointed towards the house garage so it's not noticable from the alley.

Last but not least, the sale special. Got this Husky "taco wagon" tool box for $100 off at Home Depot. Was the last one on the floor they had, and in a perfect color to match my welding rig. Had a small dent in the side and a scratch on the other side, but it's going under my workbench to replace a smaller Mac tools box anyways. The width on this one is 46" width a 24" depth. My old one is 41" width and only 18" depth. This new one is a little shorter in height, but that let's me slide it under the workbench and actually lock it. The bonus is the drawers might be less in number than the Mac, but the depth of them make them more user friendly. The Mac drawers are too shallow in height. My old one was land locked under the workbench. I had to lift the workbench with a floor jack to get it out. Sale price was $398 plus sales tax, so $430. A buddy of mine wants the old Mac box. I told him $200. So my new box only cost me $230.

I woulda used my Silverado for the trip. I drove it 5 days ago, it started up fine then, strong cranking battery, I went to start it saturday, battery stone dead. Nothing in the truck was left on either. Usually after a few days like that you would at least get the dome light though a bit weak. Nothing. A 1 year old interstate. I took it back saturday. It's only got 7 volts in it. My battery charger said ummm nope. They are gonna have it till tuesday because of the long weekend. Of course my trailer is loaded with scrap metal, so I borrowed a buddys trailer, and tried out the tow/haul mode, and backup camera with close up mode for hooking up hitches. The newest member of my fleet ran great.
