A little more today. Got it wired up inside the light housing. I shortened the mercury switch housing, then super glued it inside the light housing. This light draws maybe 1 amp. I will use 22ga shielded multi strand wire to make the wire run, along with molex connectors to be able to unplug this thing if I ever have to remove it.

Mate, it looks like a bought one, very professional looking.
Thank you. I love making stuff that appears factory, or store bought aftermarket. I popped panels today and wired it up. This thing works great. The black wrinkle blends well with the under seat carpet. When the seat gets to a 45° angle when lowering it, the light automatically goes out. That mercury switch is the bomb diggity. I used a straightened coat hanger with a tight hook on the end as a wire snake to pull wires above the headliner, and above the seat bottom carpet. This wire hanger has been in my toolbox for years. I have snaked plenty of wires with it over the years. Another homemade tool lol.

Nice saturday drive to breakfast. Coffee, homemade tortilla. Bacon egg and cheese with salsa and pico de gallo. I really need to sand that roof and epoxy primer it. Truck needs a repaint. Cant afford it right now. May talk to a buddy about doing a 2 tone on just the top half, and do the bottom a different color at a later date. Maybe 1992 corvette light teal on top, and keep the original teal on the sides.

Cheddar brats on a nice fire once she settles down with some good coals . Gonna do s'mores later. Old 18 wheeler rim. I have an old John Deere plow disc for a lid. Did some major shop clean up today though. Made some decent room, and tossed a bunch of junk.

So this morning I come back from the post office all set to finish shop clean up. My one kid is all about dying her hair eggplant purple. Last 3 days she keeps hitting it w the purple dye. I told her, honey it's not gonna get anymore purple than it is. So shes washing it out in the wash sink in the garage. And pushing down against the basin. It has a support brace in the back that holds it, so no front legs. Anyways, the brace broke, which broke some of the PVC pipe. And when I got home there was water all over the garage floor. Back out to Lowes I go to get the plumbing crap I need. Then I hastily built a brace for under it out of scrap crap I had laying around in the corner of my shop. Not my best work, I never even ground the welds. Just hit em with rattle can etch primer at the welds and installed it. Theres 2 round pockets for legs in the front of the basin to tuck into there. Nice and sturdy. I call it the Madeline mod lol. Yes I welded on galvanized conduit tube. I ground the galvanizing off before hitting it. Sometimes it seems a homeowners job is never done

Of course that snowballed with making better wire and cable hanging brackets on the side of my welder. I C clamped some crappy little brackets there several years ago and suffered with them. I finally had enough today lol. I still have not continued with the rest of shop cleanup yet today. Now that this is done, and I finally ate lunch, it's now back to shop cleanup. Sigh!
