the frame rails have been smoothed and are pretty much ready for the frame plates. just need to run a 220v outlet on that side of the shop for the welder.

In the mean time, I'm going to start stripping down the Dana 60 and get it ready for the truss.

Was able to get back out into the shop recently and was able to get a few things done.

Finished cleaning up the frames and welded the plates on.

Cut out the old low hanging cross member and replaced it with a .25 x 2.5 x 2.5 square tube tucked up nice.

The truss 80% fully welded on. Need to finish welding truss and start getting the new axle brackets welded on for the 4 link.

Once all the welding is done the axle will be fully disassembled, refinished and rebuilt with new bearing seals and anything else that needs to be replaced.

I haven't updated this page in a while. Still hacking away at the truck, just a lot slower than I thought I was going to be.
Anyway, heres where I'm at.
Front axle is completely welded up. Still needs a rebuild but ill do that later(eventually).
Upper link frame side brackets are mostly welded to the frame. Need to lift the cad to finish it off.
Lower link frame side mounts have been fabricated and mocked onto the frame. Frame needs to be drilled so it can be bolted on.
Coilover hoops are all mocked up and in the process of being welded together.

hopefully I can make better progress within the next few months.

And a rough idea as to how it will sit when finished. The body will be about 4 inches higher that where is is now. Tire is a 35 for ref.

Been waiting for steel prices to come down a bit, but i guess that isn't happening. So i bit the bullet and started back on the truck. Found out that i forgot to open up the holes in all the link brackets to 3/4 so i had to spend a day doing that. would have been much easier if nothing was welded. Oh well.

Joints and DOM tubing arrived. and assembled.

Added on to the shock hoop and finish welding them in. Only thing left for them is the cross over brace which I should be able to do this weekend. Body lift is half removed(cab side). The LS is temporarily in the truck for measuring and what not. All lower and upper links have 3/4” grade 8 bolts installed. As of right now, the front end is on the ground holding its self up like a big boy. It looks really funny with the factory tires. I think I’m leaning towards 40” tires instead of the 37’s. The factory tires are 30-31 for reference.
