Recently picked up a 1988 GMC C1500 with a 5.7 and 5 speed, for $1,050.

Plan is to make it perform and drive like a 01-04 Corvette Z06!

I've managed to get super lucky and score a 55,000 mile 02 Z06 shortblock and intake manifold for $200! Still seeking another T-56, hopefully another Tremec Magnum, as I really liked how the one in the 90 shifted.

Was doing some searching today, as I want this engine to look exactly like it was plucked from a Z06 and dropped into a pickup truck. GM still sells the coil covers, new! Score!

Alright, forward progress!

Talked the guy I got the shortblock from, out of the original LS6 heads for $150.

Also ordered the new Holley Terminator X, 7" digital dash and Reversion Raceworks cluster mount, along with a ton of parts to get this swap going.

Awesome project, what's the plan for the suspension?

Plan was a four link and front coilovers. The more I look at it, the more drag and drive interested I am, rather than handling.

New wheels came in Friday. Got everything mounted this morning.
