I have a 1992 GMC C1500 extra cab 2x4 5.7 auto in Australia.

i am looking for parts to restore and do a resto mod on this truck.

The rear Tailgate has an original badge on the right that says GMC in red looks like its plastic under that badge it says Truck.
The left side says SIERRA.

I am wanting to really get something happening on this tailgate.

The earlier models up to 1988 have a MAGNIFICENT stainless steel mould that is around 4 inches wide and runs the full length of the tailgate and has HUGE GMC badge in red.

WILL THIS 1988 MOULDING go on my 1992 without modification. Is it wide enough/ same width as my tailgate.
I want the one in the right photo
These are vary rare in Australia, only saw 1 in 12 months and it was a chevy.

No, because the tailgates are made and shaped differently. The one on the right is a Square Body truck (the GM trucks prior to the 400). That moulding covers a dished out area that is exposed on the lower trim levels. These covers were mainly used on the Sierra Classic and Silverado, top of the line models.

I'm also looking for this to put on my truck. I'm wondering if you could get the same effect from a imitation brushed metal vinyl? Here are some pictures from Amazon of that vinyl.
