Okay, I know installing an OnStar system from another junked vehicle is probably impossible, but is there anything aftermarket made by OnStar I can install in my truck? I don't really need it but I have... a collection of Onstar Manuals, stickers and a CD I want in my truck. I need an EXCUSE to have them in my truck, so it was just a question

I can't imagine why you'd want OnStar personally... I hate the fact that it's become the standard in newer GM stuff. I don't need anyone having the ability to shut my vehicles off remotely or track my location, I don't plan on letting them get stolen.

Oh OnStar does that? That's creepy. It's like google, always wanting my location. Maybe I'll just install a fake button and say "IT'S NOT SUPPORTED THIS TRUCK IS TOO OLD" lol

Yeah, I'm not sure if the aftermarket kits have that ability but I know the newer factory stuff does. Creeps me out, too.
