How low do y'all think I can go and not have to worry about scraping most places? I live in an area with a lot of sloped driveways. I've been thinking a 4/6 but I'm not sure.

This is my truck:

The only problem I had at 4-6 was high centering the frame in the middle under the cab on my ext. cab. In fact the reason I bagged it back in 2002 was because I moved to a new house thats road has a steep exit on the highway and I could not get over it static dropped.

The only static truck I ever high-centered was the extended cab longbed. I'd say a 4/6 would be fine on his truck; remember he's a C2500LD so the rear spring pack is a bit taller/stiffer, it will sit just right. Spindles and springs for a C1500, flip kit for a 454SS. Done deal. Don't forget the carrier bearing spacer and some drop shocks.

One issue I do see is that SS-style bumper cover hangs kind of low; you might rub it on driveways, and you won't be able to pull up to a parking block anymore. Those are usually out anyway even with a stock bumper + valance.

No. As I said earlier you need the flip kit for a 454SS, your axle tubes on the 9.5" 14 bolt are larger so the saddles, U-bolts, etc. are larger to match.

With a 4/6, 400's will still have a bit of a rake. Need a 3" dif front-to-rear to ride level.
Use a dropped shackle set @ the 1" drop position. May need to add a 1.5* pinion wedge with the wide end towards the front.

I agree, and did shackles on my extended cab longbed. However, I think you'll find due to the taller spring pack and thicker axle tubes, 4/6 on a C2500LD sits pretty level. I began mine with the same setup - shackles added to the flip kit - and it was taildragging. Swapped 'em back to stock shackles.

Think I'm just gonna stick with a 2/4. Anything special I need to do?
