Hole in the tank near where the filler connects?

It’s apparent the fuel is pouring down onto the top of the tank because the fuel makes a splash-sound so I don’t believe the o-ring is the culprit. “The vent hose to the filler spout”? So, Are you thinking I connected the hoses incorrectly? If so, it sounds like I’ll have to lower the fuel tank to access the top of the tank?
