Just trying to figure this out for my 97 C1500 ECLB, I've found a 97 RCLB parts truck with a 4L60E yet every junkyard I talk to says the two are not interchangeable but can't tell me why. Anyone got any ideas on this?

There shouldn't be a difference? Driveshaft should be the only difference. To the beat of my knowledge all the 4l60e's in GMT400s were the same. From a 2door blazer to a crew cab long bed if it had a 60e.

There should be no difference between a regular cab and extended cab 4L60E providing that both are 2wd and that they are the same year.

That my thoughts which is why I'm so confused that junkyards are telling me otherwise

There is probably a mistake in the parts book, that I'm assuming all the junkyards you've visited use. Seen that before, with some really creative mistakes.
