I have a 98 gmc c1500 extended cab. my inside driver door handle has always been a little loose but now won’t open at all. exterior handle works fine. anyone have the same issue and know a way to adjust it?

Yep it's probably broken. What happens to these, is the handle you grab to open the door, twists with use and eventually breaks. If you've noticed that the door handle seemed to need a little extra grab on it, or you had to yank it a little harder, to make it work, and then THAT didn't work, that's what has happened: it's broken internally. I have replaced all 4 of these in my Burb in the last 6 months.There's a pretty significant chance that the handle has broken internally and you'll need to replace it. I had one fail exactly like this in my red '97. They crack in the thin part of the handle, just far enough past the door panel that you can't see it from the outside. Seems to operate normally, but the crack prevents them from operating through the full range of travel.
