Today was fuel pump day. When we got it out of the tank the tab that locks the float in place was cracked so I decided to buy a new sending unit to be safe. Installed the unit and it runs fine but fuel gauge was on "E" and wasn't moving. I put more fuel in the truck just to make for sure. During the drive home the gauge suddenly pegged to past full, fluttered a bit and then returned to "E" and hasn't moved since. Where should I start? Thanks in advance for any help.
