Do the same brake pads fit both calipers sizes? Or do I need a different brake pad if I switch to the 8600 GVW calipers?

No, the pads fit right in either way. I've run both the 6200GVW pads and 8600GVW pad on my 8600GVW calipers. Just the rotor hat rubbing that's annoying. As long as you grind that backing plate, it's not dangerous. If I remember to, I can snag some pics tomorrow.

Well for the 8 lug there were 8600 GVW, 9200 GVW, and 10,000 GVW but for the 6 lug, despite the differing GVWs, I'm unaware of any different pads. I bought for an 8600 GVW truck, any more info you can share on this would be great.
I think there are two pad sizes. Check the sticky.

Check out Little Shop mfg. They have some good stuff. https://www.littleshopmfg.com They have a big brake kit for the 5 lug. Tim helped me out with the kit I bought for my truck, really quick response time and a couple different options to choose from.

Necrothread.

I know of three basic pad part numbers for the Delco calipers. (The Bendix calipers on the C3500HD are entirely different.)

There's the "368", "369" and "370" pad sets. Manufacturer part numbers often use those numbers in the product catalog--for example, you might buy pads labeled "0370-20" or 14-368A or somesuch.

368 = JN3
369 = JN/JB5 or 6
370 = JB/JD7
I haven't looked for a 371, maybe that's what fits a JB/JD8
JF9 is the Bendix caliper.

What's different? Best I can tell, the spring clip on the inboard pad gets bigger to fit the progressively-larger caliper piston.
